How I create and manage a task in to-do list to trick my silly procrastinator brain

I create task as pomodoro technique by gradually adding task with similar name. I am checking a task as done as reward mechanism for me after working in a task for a discrete time, e.g. 1 hour, even when the task is not done yet. I add another task with similar name in the to-do list gradually in each the discrete time.

Here is the example case with "writing essay":
  • I begin with adding task "write essay".
  • 1 hour working, check write essay x1, add write essay x2.
  •  Relax 10 minute, do another 1 hour working, check write essay x2, add write essay x3, and so on until "write essay" completely finished.
  • At the beginning, I only add "writing essay" as one task.
  • Then, after one hour working and it is not done yet.
  • So, I add new task "Writing essay x2" as new task chunk of the "Writing essay".
  • I also rename "Writing essay" by adding ending x1 as "writing essay x1" and check it as done.

  • I have some relax for maybe 10 minute or maybe do another things.
  • Then, I do the "writing essay x2" for 1 hour.
  • If it not done yet, I check "writing essay x2", as done, add new task "Writing essay x3" and have some relax time.
  • So on for the third, the fourth hour and the other hour working until the "writing essay" totally competed.
Thus, by doing this, I trick my brain that I make some progress with the tasks.
I got some happiness by checking those check box and seeing list of done task list, event it is just a progress of chunk of a task. This make me addicted to doing the task and to continue until finish the task. It also make me able to concentrating to the process and not the final product.
